Day 1: Leh – arrival + rest
Greeted and escorted from Leh Airport
Check in to hotel
Rest of the day is kept free for you to acclimatize
Leh is a high altitude destination with thin atmosphere, extremely low temperatures and dry climate. Acclimatization is must to avoid mountain sickness!
Take short walks around Leh Bazaar
Dinner and night halt

Day 2: Leh Monastries – Thiksey, Hemis
Have breakfast
Head out for day-long monastery visit
Thiksey Monastery – The all-white 12-storied Thiksey Gompa is the largest monastery in central Ladakh. It houses ancient items of Buddhist art such as stupas, statues, paintings and weapons
Hemis Monastery – This monastery is believed to have existed prior to 11th century but the modern structure was founded in 1672. The courtyard gets stunning views of Ladakh
Shey Palace – A palace cum monastery complex built in 1655 on a mountain slope. Most remarkable feature of this monument is its copper and gold idol of Shakyamuni Buddha

Dinner and sleep

Day 3: Leh – Tso Moriri
Have breakfast and checkout from hotel
Drive for excursion to:
Korzok Village – The Korzok Gustor is a small village on the Tibetan border inhabited by Ladakhi nomads in summer. These shepherd nomads rear their flock of sheep to produce the famous Pashmina variety of wool. Barley fields separate the Tso Moriri from this village. There is a monastery too that is 300 years old and has the Shakyamuni Buddha statue inside
Tso Moriri – It is the largest of the high altitude lakes in India. Mountains on the Changthang plateau feed it with waters from springs and glaciers. The reflections of snow-capped peaks cascaded behind brown barren mountains take us to a parallel world
We will spend this night camping in tents on the shores of Tso Moriri

Day 4: Tsomoriri – Leh via Puga Valley
Enjoy breakfast
Drive back to Leh via:
Puga Valley – The Puga Valley is of great geological importance due to Borax and Sulphur deposits. Hot water springs here are of great medicinal value
Polo Kongka Pass – It is a high altitude ridge at 17000 ft above MSL that lies on the disputed LOC between India and China
Tsokar Lake – Tsokar Lake is a saline water lake with a basin (Thugke Gomp) that is home to some rare Himalayan species
Tanglangla Pass – Another high altitude mountain pass at 17500 ft above MSL
Arrive at Leh and check in to hotel
Rest overnight

Day 5: Leh – Pangong Lake – Leh
Rise early and pack breakfast
Leave at 5 AM for Pangong Lake via:
Changla Pass – 3rd highest motorable road in the world
The turquoise Pangong Lake is 5 km wide at the broadest point and covers 604 sq km. It shares its territory with India, China and Tibet. Barren peaks and deep blue sky cast shadow over its surface
Drive back to Leh in afternoon
Dinner and sleep

Day 6: Leh – Khardongla Pass – Leh
Have breakfast and get ready
Proceed for all day excursion to:
Khardung La Pass – The Kardung La Pass on the Ladakh Range has the highest motorable road in the world at 18,379 ft above MSL. It remains covered in snow round the year and is a major Army base. The majestic Siachen Glacier is visible from here
Get back to hotel in Leh
Dinner and night halt

Day 7: Departure from Leh
Have breakfast and checkout from hotel
Drive to Leh Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport to board flight
